An OpenIV alternative that runs in your browser

OpenIV is the classic Windows tool for GTA 5 archives, and for editing a live game installation it is still the right tool. But if what you actually need is to open an RPF, look inside a model, export a texture, or build a DLC pack, you can do all of that here with nothing installed: open the RPF browser and drop the archive in.

The honest split

Use the browser tools when the job is about the files: opening archives on any system, checking a model before installing it, pulling textures, converting a GLB, or packaging a FiveM resource. Keep OpenIV around if you mod a single player installation directly, because writing into the game folder is inherently a desktop job.

Frequently asked questions

Can I open RPF files without OpenIV?
Yes. The RPF browser opens GTA 5 archives in your browser, including nested archives, and lets you browse the file tree and extract files. Nothing gets installed and files stay on your device.
Does it work on Mac and Linux?
Yes. Everything runs in the browser, so any system with a modern browser works. OpenIV itself is Windows software.
Can it install mods into my game folder?
No. A browser cannot write into your GTA installation, and that part remains a job for desktop tools. What you can do here is open, inspect, convert, and build the files themselves.
Can I create archives too, or only open them?
Both. The RPF builder assembles new archives, including dlc.rpf packs for FiveM resources, from files you drop in.
