YDD LOD Generator

Generate missing MED, LOW, and VLOW LODs for a GTA V or FiveM clothing drawable dictionary (.ydd) without Blender. Vertex-clustering decimation builds simpler distance models from your high-detail mesh, with per-level ratio sliders and a live 3D preview.

How it works

  1. 1Drag and drop a .ydd (or .ydd.xml), and optionally a matching .ytd so textures show in the preview.
  2. 2The high-detail mesh decodes locally and rebuilds the MED, LOW, and VLOW levels by vertex-clustering decimation.
  3. 3Drag the MED, LOW, and VLOW ratio sliders to choose how much detail each distance model keeps and watch the 3D preview update.
  4. 4Download the optimized _lod.ydd with the generated LOD levels baked in.

Frequently asked questions

Do I need Blender to generate LODs?
No. The tool decimates your high-detail mesh in your browser and writes the LOD levels directly into the .ydd, so no Blender or 3D software is needed.
Does it run in the browser and is it free?
Yes. LOD generation runs locally in your browser, so your .ydd files never leave your device. Decoding, generating LODs, and the 3D preview are free; you sign in with Discord, and downloading the optimized .ydd uses tokens (or is included with a subscription).
Does this work for FiveM clothing?
Yes. It is built for GTA V and FiveM clothing drawable dictionaries that ship only a high LOD, adding the medium, low, and very-low models the engine expects at distance.
What files does it accept?
Binary .ydd files and .ydd.xml exports, plus an optional matching .ytd so the 3D preview can show the correct textures.
