FiveM YTD Texture Optimization
Optimize a GTA V or FiveM texture dictionary (.ytd) right in your browser. Resize oversized textures, force DXT5 compression, and rebuild full mipmap chains to shrink file size and fit your streaming budget, then download a clean optimized .ytd.
How it works
- 1Drag and drop a .ytd file; it decodes locally in your browser and lists every texture with a thumbnail, size, and format.
- 2Pick options in the panel: adjust compression and mip policy, ensure mipmaps, resize to power-of-two, or downscale to a max size.
- 3Click Optimize to re-encode the textures and refresh the preview, then review the before and after size in the run report.
- 4Download the rebuilt _opt.ytd, ready to drop straight back into your resource.
Frequently asked questions
- Is the YTD optimizer free and does it run in the browser?
- Yes. Decoding and re-encoding run entirely in your browser, so your .ytd files never leave your device and there is nothing to install.
- Does this work for FiveM texture budgets?
- Yes. It is built for cutting GTA V and FiveM texture stream size by rebuilding mipmaps, downscaling, and recompressing oversized textures so they fit your budget.
- What does rebuilding mipmaps do?
- It fills in missing mip levels (re-encoding single-mip textures as a full DXT5 chain), which fixes shimmering at distance and keeps the texture engine-friendly.
- What formats are supported?
- It reads standard GTA V texture dictionaries (.ytd) with DXT1, DXT5, and uncompressed BGRA/RGBA textures, and writes optimized DXT5 output with full mip chains.
